COMMON GROUND CENTER, STARKSBORO, VT

in the Green Mountains nestled in a valley, surrounded by forest...

Haybarn at night

The Common Ground Center is located in Starksboro, Vermont, 30 minutes from Burlington and Lake Champlain. The 700 acre site is located on an old farm, nestled in the valley between the Hogback and Green Mountains.

The rustic and relaxing setting stands out from other venues with its classic Vermont landscape, breathtaking scenery, green business practices, and distinctive buildings and cabins.

Common Ground offers three accommodation options: camping, cabins, and the Ecolodge.

Cabins: cozy, and rustic with a capital "R"! With no electricity, no plumbing, and BYO linens, they're a no frills experience, but a beautiful and peaceful place to stay. All cabins are in clusters in the woods, a short walk from the main campus (so we can enjoy the starry Vermont nights!), but they are all close to a composting toilet. Some are also very close to the bathhouse while others are a short walk.

Ecolodge: our "cushier" accommodation, the Ecologe offers offers shared rooms, each with its own bathroom and electricity.  There is an extra charge for staying in the Ecolodge, and these rooms are assigned at registration on a first-come, first-served basis.  Please note, there are very limited accommodations for couples in the Ecolodge (there are more options in the cabins).

Camping: bring your tent or RV (or hammock) to get a private "room"! A beautiful hillside field, overlooking the main campus and near the cabins, offers gorgeous views and provides ample space for camping. In addition to nine tent platforms located on the edge of the field, many people set up camp in the field or nestled into the treeline surrounding the field. There is plenty of room, so no need to worry about privacy!  Note that while RVs are welcome, there are no hook-ups.

All accommodations, other than camping, are shared (2-4 campers), and (almost) all beds are singles. There are no private rooms.

Except in the Ecolodge, all campers must supply their own bedding, pillows and towels.
